How easy is it to assemble Joybird's furniture?
Share your experience with Joybird's ease of assembly
Joybird is known for building custom furniture, tailored to each customer's individual space — and they do it well. Their couches, chairs, and ottomans (basically any seating) are the most popular, and they come with the best news: no assembly required!
While you may not have to assemble your Joybird sofa, you may be stuck having to attempt to bring your sofa into the house, unless you choose to have the item delivered to your home.
If you chose "in-home delivery" during checkout, all items are delivered inside the room of your choice and unpackaged. Single-item orders of chairs or ottomans are shipped to your front door for free, but are not taken inside unless you choose to upgrade during checkout.
Be sure to check Joybird's Will it Fit? before ordering any of their furniture. You don't want to be stuck in a Ross from Friends "pivot" situation.
Exceptions to the in-home delivery policy are items like Joybird's bed, bookcase, and wall-unit collections, which require simple assembly. We'll dive deeper on that now!
As far as the beds go, let's look at the Hughes Bed.
There aren't assembly instructions readily available on the site, so I took a dive into the comments to see how customers found the assembly.
Kim H. from New Jersey says that the bed was "extremely superb to assemble."
We also took a look at a few other beds, and found Blair's review helpful as well:
According to this person, they opted for assembly included, however "helped the guys build it just to speed things up." They list a downside of assembly as well: "the holes in the frame are pre-drilled and a lot of our connections didn't line up at 90 degrees. Nobody will ever notice it but me, but ... if you actually pay attention it's very wonky looking though stable."
Looks like there might be some room for improvement here when it comes to assembling Joybird furniture.
